I just secured 15T which is what I wanted at the 171st AV unit in brooksville for the FLANG. I have until May 2nd to go to MEPS and my recruiter said my physical will be more in depth because i will be doing a flight physical as well. Does that mean I will most likely be flying? Or do all 15Ts go through a flight physical. Also what could I expect?

You will be doing a flight physical at MEPS. Flight physicals are done upon unit discretion. You still haven’t been to BCT or AIT. You will need another physical by the time you complete all that.

Thanks so much for the reply. My understanding is that they do fly in the unit I will be going too. That’s why I’m asking because I would love to fly so I’m guessing my possibilities of that happening will be very strong WO1 (Join to see)

The only flying you will be doing is flying your ass to a coffee pot and getting a cup of java for your Chief.

You’re better off working maintenance, for a little while before jumping onto flight status. They don’t teach you everything in AIT. Working maintenance will let you learn more about the bird from soldiers who have been doing it. Good luck either way.

15T's (UH60 Blackhawk Mechanics—god bless 'em!) that are assigned to non-rated crewmember flight position are required to have an initial flight physical and then maintain an annual flight physical that is generally completed during the crewmember's birth month. Flight physicals are good for one year. So, I assume that the NG requires 15T's to have a flight physical completed at MEPS in conjunction with the other required medical exams, for potential assignment to a crewmember position, regular Army would have you complete your flight physical when you sign into your Battalion and then only if you are being assigned to a "flight company".
