Since I am prior service, when I get my orders to my first base, will I get briefed on how the Air Force operates?

I am currently doing research on the Air Force and how they do things but when I get my orders to my first base will I get briefed on how the Air Force operates since I am prior service?

Are you going into an AFSC analogous to your MOS now? I'd expect your properly get an orientation period, as Army does diver somewhat from USAF, though the differences obviously aren't all that profound...I was just curious, what prompted the switch, if you'd care to elaborate? Are you doing your associates, bachelors? Look up Community College of the AF (CCAF), your prior Army training might be assessable, though I've heard that only fully qualified USAF AFSCs can qualify for an associates from there, I'd read stuff about opening CCAF up to other svcs, I don't know if that ever went anywhere, you'd have to ask...try to get your DANTES and/or Amer Council on Educ (ACE) mil transcript, if you haven't gotten one thus far, if you'd care to chat at all, I'd be genuinely interested, I have an interest in such career/educ topics, many thanks....

SPC Private RallyPoint Member if you are not going to any IET or a transition course, you may have to go to your 1st line supervisor and ask. They are not as hands on as the Army.

There is an Air Force publication that is called 50 questions every Airman should know. We used to tease our AF brothers at the Naval War College and their little Chairman Mao Red Book, but it was summaries of certain Air Force mission, history, etc. I think it's on line.
