Slotted for squad leader after 3 years of section time. Does this help or hurt my career?

I'm a 11C Ssg with 7 years in and 3 years of section time. For the last 8 months I deployed and served as the HQ psg and since being back am now serving as a mortar psg unit my upcoming pcs. I recently re enlisted to go to fort Benning and try to get some instructor time and get some college knocked out. Well I got Fort benning and I am slotted to go to a cav unit and serve as a squad leader. Does this help or hurt? And what should I or anybody in this situation do?
