SM on recovery phase fails APFT; what should the unit do? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/sm-on-recovery-phase-fails-apft-what-should-the-unit-do <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I know The SM has twice the lenght of the profile but not to exceed 90 days as a recovery phase. But The SM knowing there was an APFT never mentions that the SM is in the recovery phase to anyone. SM failed the APFT and all the sudden the SM starts saying I'm in my recovery phase and That the SM shouldn't be flagged and barred becasue of it. My thoughts on the topic is that, if the SM didn't care enough prior to the APFT to mention it or do a follow up appt. with the provider to see if the profile needs to be continue. Then the SM is just trying to dodge the bullet. However, the only thing that really matters when it is all said and done is that they were on recovery. But as long as they are in the recovery phase they can't really be flagged for it. Perhaps the SM wanted to take it as a diagnostic and thought everyone would assume that was why they took it. In my mind while the SM should absolutely be the one saying I am in a recovery period...their leader should've known to and addressed it before the APFT occurred, like the day prior. Sounds like there might be more pressing issues here than dodging bullets. I mean they SHOULD be tracking whats going on with THEIR Soldier, correct? Not the Soldiers fault the leadership wasn't tracking. MSG Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 02 May 2014 01:28:27 -0400 2014-05-02T01:28:27-04:00 2014-05-01T14:26:11-04:00
