So how hard is it exactly to switch from National Guard to Active? Do I need to wait until I get back to my unit?

I'm about 9 weeks into ADA BOLC and with the massive growth hitting ADA would it be hard to make the switch? I did the whole ROTC thing while getting my Master's in Education to come back in as an officer, and the only reason I chose the Guard was to stick around so my wife could finish her last two years of her PHD in Chemistry. Now her boss is talking about graduating her a year early and she's saying she wouldn't mind if I went active... A little late now, but we talked and now she said to go ahead and look into it. We both agreed that I can teach when I'm done since I only have about 10 years left to retire with all my prior-enlisted time. I'd switch now if I could. My instructor really wasn't sure. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks.
