So what's it like as a Cavalry Scout?

I ship out in less than a month, and I have been looking around for a long time for more info on 19d, however in comparison to 11b, its kind of scarce. So if anyone would ya'll tell me a little, bit about the MOS. I am aware of the basics, but I just wanna hear. more. I do have a more direct question which will most likely differ upon personal experience, but what's the camaraderie like? I ask because I have heard various claims that its high due to their limited numbers. But that's it. If anyone wishes to comment I will be grateful

You made a tough choice. Aim high, because if you're "just average" you will be taken advantage of. Interior Security (Guard Duty) sucks. They called us 19 Dogs, and we caught hell in garrison.

I loved it. We had a high degree of camaraderie. Tankers called us “crunchies” as an inside joke. They called us that because it’s the sound we make when a tank rolls over us.

It requires a great deal of intelligence and the ability to rapidly adapt to developing situations. It was the most thankless MOS which I held in the Army, and yet was also my favorite which allowed me to grow more than any other MOS which I held.

Well, as a Cav Scout you can look forward to spending a few years being reminded repeatedly by the Infantry that you're a POG. Concurrently, your Facebook page gets blasted with homoerotic memes filled with half naked men wearing cowboy hats, possibly spurs, and text correlating the Cavalry with homosexuality. After a few years of this you get out, and get to wear your hat and spurs on your mall cop uniform.
If that MOS was a restaurant, I'd say it struggles to get a star on Yelp...
