Soldiers loose skin? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/soldiers-loose-skin <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have seen Soldiers who have lost a tremendous amount of weight to complete basic and to meet AR 600-9.  The result was that there was extra skin that will never go away.  Should the army find away to take this into account during the taping process?  Should the individual or the Army take the bill to have it removed?  Keep in mind that these Soldiers lost this weight for the Army and the Army is saying thanks but no thanks.  Let the debate begin!!!!!  Thu, 17 Apr 2014 23:29:25 -0400 Soldiers loose skin? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/soldiers-loose-skin <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have seen Soldiers who have lost a tremendous amount of weight to complete basic and to meet AR 600-9. SSG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 17 Apr 2014 23:29:25 -0400 2014-04-17T23:29:25-04:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 17 at 2014 11:52 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/soldiers-loose-skin?n=104979&urlhash=104979 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I believe that if a Soldier has lost that much weight in order to comply with Army standards, the Army should pick up the tab to have it removed. Similar to other surgeries that the Army will cover, it would greatly benefit the Soldier, in addition to making the tape process far more accurate. A Soldier I worked with had it done, it was a fairly simple process. :) CPL(P) Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 25 Apr 2014 03:05:22 -0400 2014-04-25T03:05:22-04:00 Response by SFC Royce Williams made Nov 22 at 2014 12:52 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/soldiers-loose-skin?n=337993&urlhash=337993 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Nice question. Glad you brought it up. I had a couple of Soldiers while on the trail that had the same issue. They came in extremely heavy and left fit with lots of sagging skin. I believe the Army should foot the bill. It just makes sense. I got down to 150lbs and came 1inch to lose in my waist. I was very fit for duty and could carry 220 dead weight. When it came to my re-enlist date I of course wasn’t allowed because I didn’t meet tape. I was young and it never crossed my mind to mention a more accurate BMI alternative then. So I just did my time and got out. I wish at least I could have known to mention it to my command and I totally beat myself up for not. Or even thinking to do elective surgery. I mean there were women getting breast augmentations left in right. Why not skin removal.
