I WISH I could tell you that you made a mistake !!

I tried to find the correction on the WhiteHouse.gov website, but haven't found it yet. I did, however, find the following website with some interesting information:

We funded, trained equipped and armed the majority of the worlds terrorist organizations for the last forty to fifty years. Today's ally is tomorrow's terrorist. Dont forget, to a large segment of the world, WE are terrorists...

It's job security. We have to keep training them so we have someone to wage war on later. Its good for the military budget, which is great for the manufacturers of our equipment, vehicles, weapons, uniforms, etc.. it's just business..

ISIL is the group we originally created to help us in Iraq. They were allies once upon a time, much like the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Admittedly they had a different name back then. Once they were called "The sons of Iraq". We used to use them a lot toward the end, especially when the ROE didn't allow for much force on our part. They joined with a lot of the "leadership" we had detained at Camp Bucca. After a time, and some training/partnership with Al Qaeda (specifically in Iraq), they later rebranded as ISIS/ISIL.

CPT Private RallyPoint Member and Sgt Richard Buckner I have to agree. "Brain fart." He "misspoke" and meant to say training something like forces to fight ISIL or anti-ISIL forces.
