South Carolina principal makes students take flags off their trucks on 9/11

So I read a article this principal at woodruff highschool on 9/11 went to students trucks took there American flags off. And wouldn't give them back until the end of the day citing " it's againist district policy to bring attention to your vehicle no matter what" even though they were showing respect and remeberance. What are the communities thoughts did he do the right thing or take more political correctness to a whole new level of stupidity

I think my kid would have gladly accepted a suspension for that, and I would have been in the principal's office before the day was out.

I'd say the principal was off base on this. If it was school policy, they should have authorized an exception for (U.S.) patriotic items on 9/11.

Though I understand what the superintendent is stating, I do not agree with their application. Effectively he correlated the American flag with the Nazi flag by giving them equal status and billing. To come back after the fact and insist that they did not intend to dishonor anyone by taking flags on 9/11 seems a bit off to me. I think collectively they need the cranial rectum removal tool.
