This is not a civilian negotiation. Your MEPS Counselor can only put what the law and regulations allows and requires. You'll be offered everything there is available to offer that you qualify for.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 6 at 2021 10:12 PM2021-02-06T22:12:47-05:002021-02-06T22:12:47-05:00Lt Col Jim Coe6726939<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Probably can’t add anything on your end. The Guard gets to decide most everything. You might get input on the dates for basic training and AIT. Do read the enlistment contract before you take the oath and sign final paperwork. Ask if you don’t understand something. Enjoy the adventure!Response by Lt Col Jim Coe made Feb 7 at 2021 9:23 AM2021-02-07T09:23:58-05:002021-02-07T09:23:58-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6727041<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When you sit with the Guidance Counselors at MEPS, they will tell you everything that is available at the time of enlistment. There are some schools that pop up from time to time like Airborne school. Those have less to do with you and your scores and more to do with current needs of the Army. I'm currently on recruiting and tell people every day..."it's not that you don't qualify for something, it's just that the Army doesn't need that right now". You can be medically cleared for Airborne training while at MEPS, but that does mean that they need Airborne personnel right now.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 7 at 2021 10:06 AM2021-02-07T10:06:08-05:002021-02-07T10:06:08-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member6727086<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Sounds like you'll be in the 115th MP BN.<br />Best of luckResponse by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 7 at 2021 10:28 AM2021-02-07T10:28:25-05:002021-02-07T10:28:25-05:00SSgt Private RallyPoint Member6727522<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Don't know if it still applies - when i went in in '84 I had college credits. That got me an automatic E2 upon successful graduation. What I did not know was I could have asked for eligibility for Meritorious E3 with the college credits I had. I could have graduated boot camp an E3 had I known that.Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 7 at 2021 12:57 PM2021-02-07T12:57:48-05:002021-02-07T12:57:48-05:00PFC Kimberly Staiti6728122<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Smart use of the wisdom available on RP.
