I am starting the Transitioning Vets Podcast. I already have a podcast (Submarine Sea Stories) and it has been a great way to connect with vets.

Now I am ready to kick it up a notch.

I found Brian, a Navy nuclear trained electronics technician who’s agreed to be interviewed (and helped) as part of the new podcast. So far, I have gave him a few hints on his resume and told him about the commercial nuclear industry (my field).

For the podcast, I will invite experts that will continue to help Brian with specific advice and coaching.

Hopefully, it will ignite others to help and give hope to transitioning vets who are struggling.

Right now, I need information from vets that have transitioned recently (last 5 years). It has been 29 years for me and I out of touch (funny it does not feel that long ago).

So here’s how you can help.

1) What were your 3 biggest struggles or surprises from your (recent) transition?

2) What was the tipping point for you to feel like a “successful” civilian? A veteran owned company hired you, a friend connected you with a great resource, whatever it is.

Thanks for the help!

What do you think are the most important things to accomplish before exiting the military, that would contribute to a successful transition?
