Military Driver Programs
"The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) proudly supports America’s Armed Forces and is committed to assisting service members and veterans in transitioning to civilian transportation careers. Several FMCSA programs make it easier, quicker, and less expensive for experienced military drivers to obtain a commercial driver’s license."

The army teaches you just enough about truck driving to end up in jail with thousands in fines. A da 348 and dd 214 does not equal a CDL.

It tought me enough to use the skills I learned to be ahead as a CDL student driver un the civilian world. No you're not jumping into a 60 ton truck and grabbing gears right out of AIT , but you will be leaps and bounds ahead of civilians with no experience what so ever. I have parlayed my military MOS 88M into a great civilian career as a Commercial Fuel Tanker Driver. I make 90K+ a year and am happy in what I do fo a living.
