Hey, I am currently studying for the SIFT exam, test date at the end of this month (JULY 2019): currently studying
1.SIFT book i bought off Amazon
2.The FAA rotary wing book (chapters 1-3)
3. Khan academy for math and english

What advice do you have for studying and are chapters 1-3 necessary to study for the FAA rotary wing handbook?

Try to elaborate...assocs, bach, major(s), grades, GPA, STEM and non-STEM course titles, any prior flight exposure...exactly how much math have you had, as specifically as possible...algebra? Geometry? Trig (and remember, there is no such thing as pre-calc, regardless of what you read, I assure you)? Calc itself, both differential and integral? Physics? Chem? Labs to go with both? I'd also get what are called the Schaum's outlines from any Barnes and Noble, as well as what are termed the REA Problem Solvers, those are, by far, the single best sets of review books published, far superior to any Khan Academy stuff, in my estimation, honest...next, have you done any serious reading on rotary and/or fixed-wing aerodynamics, and, have you made use of any mil aero club near you for any possible flight exposure? The more you relate, the more I and others here can help you...the English aspect, look at Strunk's Elements of Style, as classic small book on basic grammar and syntax, well worth the expense...elaborate on hobbies, interests, reading tastes, any sports, esp martial arts, if any...do as detailed a biosketch as possible, take the time to write it out, in detail, and be as specific and explicit as you can be, OK? I looked cursorily at it...I'd say most definitely, if you wanna have any concrete idea about even the most general aspects of such aircraft, though, of course, that's the opinion of one who's non-rated, though, from a purely hard-science standpoint, I'd most definitely say yeah...though, obv, I could well be wrong, I entirely realize that...lemme look if over some more, I'd been unaware it even existed, the one I found on that site was from 2012.....

It's basically the ASVAB with a few Aviation tailored sections. If you have a SIFT study guide from Amazon, then the sections on Simple Drawings, Hidden Figures and Spacial Apperception are pretty much on point for what to expect. Reading Comp, Math and Mechanical Comp. are what they are. Brush up on what you struggle with. Math is my weak spot so I spent a lot of time studying here. The Aviation knowledge/information section isn't hard, but I'll be honest and say that I remember several questions being worded very poorly (it doesn't help they still give this test out on old computers running on what seems to be windows 95). So be sure to read the questions carefully.

To answer your question, Chapters 1-3 will help out with the Aviation Information section if you aren't already familiar with Rotary Wing Aircraft.
