Summarized article 15 showing up in recruiter background screening

I put in my recruiter packet and the background screening finally came out and they are showing a article 15 from almost three years ago which was summarized. They told me that it was showing up as a field grade. Im not sure where they are seeing this at, since i never recieved a field grade.

Damn. That summarized shouldn't have even shown up, period. It was my understanding that Summarized stay within the unit it was issued and is removed and destroyed from their records after a certain length of time. I certainly hope you have documentation to back up your side.

SGT (Join to see) - Again, they should not have. The only one that stays in your jacket is the Field Grade. So, since that popped up, someone somewhere hit the wrong button and gave you the big green weenie. Start making your calls to HRC and the like to compare notes and get things fixed. Also, get your Chain of Command involved.

Best of luck. My command also handed me my summarized Article 15, and told me to hang on to it for 3 years just in case it showed up somewhere....it didn't, and I shredded it.

SGT (Join to see) Did you receive a copy of your 2627-1? Do you still have it? That could be your ticket out of this dilemma. On the back it specifically states how long the Summarized Art. 15 should stay in your file (2 years tops, or when you leave your unit). Best of luck.
