Switched to Active Army after ETS. I need some help? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/switched-to-active-army-after-ets-i-need-some-help <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I switched to active duty in June. After compiling my Reserves and Guard time, I was given a BASD of 7July2019 and a PEBD of 1Nov2011. I kept my TIG with promotion date of April2013. I have SSD1 complete (2014). I took and passed my PT test today. I was told I might not have to do a promotion board and could potentially just be put into BLC because of my TIG. No one seems to have a definite, &quot;yes&quot; or &quot;no&quot; answer? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Mon, 20 Jul 2020 20:06:45 -0400 Switched to Active Army after ETS. I had a couple soldiers that this happened to. Check your enlistment paperwork bringing you to active duty and see what the recruiter put on there. I hope that he did not say &quot; That will all be worked out at your unit. I would bet a dime to a doughnut you will have to go to the board. Most units like to see what you have under the beret SSG Roger Ayscue Mon, 20 Jul 2020 20:12:49 -0400 2020-07-20T20:12:49-04:00 Response by 1SG Brian Adams made Jul 20 at 2020 8:23 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/switched-to-active-army-after-ets-i-need-some-help?n=6121187&urlhash=6121187 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>whats your current rank? Specialist? If you are on currently active duty status, I am sure you will have to appear before a board for promotion to E-5 (SGT)...having said that, they could also fast track you and send you to BLC (I believe that is PLDC for us old schoolers?)<br />Keep in mind, all your prior service time is great, especially when it comes time to retire, if you choose to do so....but this is a different component. Active duty is different than reserve time and Guard time....so I would prepare myself for a board and a fast track to school so they can pin your SGT&#39;s rank....your first line supervisor should be able to direct this for you...good luck...hooah! 1SG Brian Adams Mon, 20 Jul 2020 20:23:11 -0400 2020-07-20T20:23:11-04:00 Response by SMSgt Billy Cesarano made Jul 20 at 2020 8:29 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/switched-to-active-army-after-ets-i-need-some-help?n=6121218&urlhash=6121218 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Don&#39;t know what your MOS is but assume you are moving into an NCO slot. You should be able to be a leader at this point. That includes solving these issues for your troops; this is good training. It&#39;s all about how you stack up points-wise. As SSG Ayscue said, do the research into your records to be sure everything transferred in properly. My experience in my Active Duty Army days, was ripe with really bad record keeping and follow up by individuals that just didn&#39;t care. Get it corrected if you find errors while docs and personnel are still around. Don&#39;t sweat a board either. Remember, you should already know and be able to perform all the responsibilities and requirements for the rank prior to receiving it. Good luck! Another way is being automatically added to the PPRL via CLI. Once you hit PPRL then your unit will need to schedule BLC for you. Think for SPC its TIG 36 months after that. You will most likely be MLI and automatically have your Promotion status. You get a BLC slot based on how many points you have. The more points equals the more likley you will get sent. Refer to the cut off scores posted every month for the requirements. Good luck! Just open the promotion reg and look at Mandatory Integrated List timeline SFC Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 21 Jul 2020 01:17:36 -0400 2020-07-21T01:17:36-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 21 at 2020 10:40 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/switched-to-active-army-after-ets-i-need-some-help?n=6123100&urlhash=6123100 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would assume you’d have to attend a board unless you’re on some sort of automatic promotion list. I had a similar deal when I went from Reserve to Active, my TIS didn’t change but my TIG was adjusted to the day I started my AD time. If it were me I’d want to go to a board like everyone else has to. It’s a good learning experience if anything else. Now being as it is possible to be promoted without going to a board it is not likely even with the integration list. Because you’re command can deny your promotion if they believe you’re not fit for the NCO position. Or they can just make your life so much hell and wait for you mess something up so bad that they can drop you back down. And since they ultimately have to pay for it it still is their decision to send you. If the budget allows and you qualify per school regulations and time constraints of unit training allows then I don’t see why not SSG Lou Ann Reynolds Wed, 22 Jul 2020 08:46:17 -0400 2020-07-22T08:46:17-04:00 2020-07-20T20:06:45-04:00
