People have many sides… sometimes we’re sad, sometimes we’re happy, and sometimes we don’t know how we feel. That’s why we need each other.

When we conducted unit APFT, those who finished first on the run often ran back to run with those struggling. It is very gratifying to help others win.

I had the sudden revelation yesterday that maybe my PTSD is a good event as I have helped others with PTSD. I have never felt so much pain in my life, but gave me an opportunity to help others. Like the quote in Dances with Wolf, "It is a good trade."
