Not only was it an absolute joke, but also completely worthless. The resume writing class was horrible and if it wasn't for hire a hero I wouldn't know how to write a good resume. The ability to translate your military training and schooling is lacking, the fact that we attend certain schools in the military that relate to civilian schools and walk away with nothing is getting old. Why old, because when you get out if you don't have those certain pieces of paper mean everything. Personally I thought it was a joke as well. I did get some VA info there and very little about resume. What I was hoping for was to get knowledge about what my MOS could translate to when I got out. Luckily, I went to College right after and learned what was needed to make it to the field I am in now. I work for a Global Forwarding Company (Kintetsu World Express, USA inc. It only took me 4 years to figure things out on my own. Thanks for about 5% help from TAP. It really needs a lot of improvements. It is not giving service members the reality on what to expect once they are out. I retired in CT where I was the Recruiting Operations Manager for my recruiting company. I was fortunate enough to find a mentor before I completely transition. There is a lot of preparation that goes into separating from the service. I can go on but, I do not want to more of your time. Be prepared, focus and do not give up. If your resume is not getting you interviews, there is something wrong. Remember, your resume gets you the interview and your interview the job. Best of luck.
