In my case I am a veteran who can not live in an apartment or city life. No to sick to drive senior travel wants almost twice as much to drive me and the VA re-emburses only half the amount back to me. There are so many veterans who do not live in town areas. Some people have their homes paid for or are willed to them in the family in which they don't want to leave either, or great people where they are.But yet to get our benefits we had to travel.
Now they have improved and are trying a choice card to go to nearest hospitals but civilian psycologists I have tried only say uhuh uhuh when they really don't have a clue what we are saying. But the VA telemeds for psychytrists (forgive spelling getting worse memory)In our case along the Canadian border we must drive over 2 hours to the nearest one just to be seen webcam for half hour. A long drive, hard on bodies, money for gas that I feel is not neccessary. Why cant they hook us up with those at our nearest doctors or hospitals near us if they are set up for it. There is a hospital only 21 miles from me instead of 2 and half hours that is set to do it telemed
but the VA won't. How or can we change this? maybe even to units that are active somehow.
