If they are looking for relative comfort and great duty stations and plenty of travel to Europe- I usually recommend they join the Army or Air Force. If they want cramped quarters and to smell the ocean air- I usually recommend the Navy. If they want no comfort, hand me down equipment, and want to graduate the school of hard knocks as a sadistic S.O.B.with a double major in cynicism and resourcefulness- then join the Corps. By the way- the uniform and the Embassy guards that lead "moto" runs at Jakarta International School back in 6th and 7th grade sealed my decision- no matter the MOS.
