The gold stripe down my pants has busted. What should I do?

You can go and purchase the gold stripe at clothing sales and take it to a good seamstress and they can replace it. No need to throw out a perfectly good pair of trousers because of such a tiny flaw.

If you do end up getting new pants, make sure you get ones that are made from the same material as the jacket. I've noticed some material/color differences between what's sold at clothing and sales vs what you get directly from Marlowe White.

Not a helpful answer. CPT Private RallyPoint Member, but the results should not be unexpected, when making a service uniform from a dress uniform. Stupid decision, and the latest in a long line of poor uniform decisions that have been made by DA. If they are a pair of the standard issue from Clothing Sales I would trash them and buy a new pair. If they are a decent pair from a place like Marlow White you can get a new stripe sewn on for relatively cheap. I'm hoping mine hold out until I make CPT in another 3 years or so.

Honestly I'm more curious as to how you've worn them enough to wear out a pair of pants in the USAR. Even as an AGR Soldier I wear my ASUs twice a year at most.

With that said, I would just buy new braid. You'll probably have $50 tied up in it all said and done.

Buy a new stripe, take it to a reputable tailor you trust and have it sewn. Additional advice: don't ask for advice about a simple clothing fix on a military community website. It's very possible that your soldiers could see that you needed to crowd source advice for a basic clothing maintenance issue. Ask peers in your unit for this kind of advice first.

Could check a dry cleaner on base and see if a pair in your size was left behind and not been paid for. The cleaners will only ask for the bill to be paid. Otherwise I guess you could buy a new stripe and get it sewn on, I would hire someone but I'm not confident in my sewing abilities. Good luck Sir.

Take them to alterations and have the fixed or buys new pair!
