My father, a Vietnam veteran, was promised free healthcare as a result of Agent Orange poisoning. He served four tours, and only recently has he started sharing his war stories with me. Anyhow, in one, he told me that there had been so much Agent Orange sprayed from the aircraft that it was dripping off the trees and he could taste it (along the Laos-Vietnam border somewhere). He now has co-pays because he "fits in the higher income bracket."<br /><br />I have issues relating to my military service during the Persian Gulf War, and now, too pay copays. After 9-11, Gulf War veterans seemed to take a back seat in the VA for the new round of veterans and a renewed interest in Vietnam veterans. The VA needs a lot of work.
