Ownership, motivation getting Soldiers to buy in is important in BCT/OSUT I comment the discipline that it took for those Soldiers to learn this. This is charismatic leadership teaching Soldiers weapons safety and discipline all in one! I say hooah! This well defend!

At first I was like WTF? Then I realized they were running through some really boring basic skills in the most motivated way possible. Beats the hell out of the 5 pull ups we all had to do before we got to eat when I did BCT in 94.

Yeah, it's super corny, but it's the kind of crap you'll remember forever.

That was actually pretty good. Having them (as a unit) go through functions check out loud so everyone learns and doesn't forget. On top of the fact that these guys are sounding motivated. On top of the fact that these guys are in White Phase and sounding that awesome as a unit. On top of the fact that the DS has them that motivated in White Phase. That was damn good.

What an epic waste of time. This is what drills who have no actual knowledge to teach do when the real workers are gone or smoking or whatever. Sure it looks cool, but cheerleading and killing ISIS take 2 very different levels of dedication

This is nearly how I taught the class. Minus the "If you aint Cav. you aint..." comment, of course, and the medley of madness that IET Soldiers get all fired up about. In sequence, as a group, by the numbers. After BRM 1 don't act like you don't know what to do at the clearing barrel. That could earn you 100 reps of the same....in sequence, by the numbers. Blunt force trauma and mindless repetition.

As for that Cav comment. I think we set a bad example to new Soldiers who aren't even qualified in their own MOS yet, with these rivalries. Now to contradict that last statement. I've been attached to a CAV unit while deployed and worked as a SDS at the Maneuver Center. I will agree...I'm not shit, and CAV guys, well you said it.
