SSG Private RallyPoint Member 2043020 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Im usually really good about keeping my OCIE separate during PCS time but this time I was in the field when the movers came and my wife wasn&#39;t sure what could and couldn&#39;t go and accidentally had them pack things I needed to turn in for PCS. I just need to know if I can carry items to my next duty station and turn in there or if I&#39;m going to be out now even though I know I have the items? The movers packed many of my items that are supposed to be turned into CIF. Can those items be carried forward to my next duty station? 2016-11-05T12:18:21-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 2043020 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Im usually really good about keeping my OCIE separate during PCS time but this time I was in the field when the movers came and my wife wasn&#39;t sure what could and couldn&#39;t go and accidentally had them pack things I needed to turn in for PCS. Meaning when you outprocessed for the last time, the CIF for your current post would have a list of what you needed to turn in to clear CIF.<br />The Army was also testing issuing a soldier his/her individual kit that they kept with them while they were in and it would PCS with them, meaning they kept their individual TA-50 for the duration of their service. I retired before these had been implemented service wide and was only available at certain installations. I had TA-50 that had been phased out and replaced with newer gear and they did not want it back (it wasn’t on the list).<br />Ask your Supply SGT, he would be more knowledgeable in this area. Why is a SSG in the field when the movers show up? Stop, never mind, Murphy may be in play. If the gear is reasonable in price, buy it and clear. If it&#39;s expensive, call the moving company and see if the box is still local. If not, lesson learned. In fact with the exception of body armor, I have carried my OCIE from duty station to duty station for the last 10 years. Even when I wanted to turn it in, they wouldn&#39;t let me and told me I had to take it. The only exception besides body armor was anything in multicam because they needed it for other deployers. The problem areas come in to play when a CIF marks certain items as a higher need locally. For example I had to turn in my SAPI plates and body armor before transferring from a FORSCOM unit to TRADOC.
