I can see they say it's demeaning to the soldier but at the same time. They chose to be soldiers. They volunteered for what came and they knew there was smoke sessions and yelling involved. So how can the Army cater to brand new soldiers and punish the NCOs who try to correct them the way they were, the way that produced great soldiers? What is your opinion on NCOs getting counseled for yelling at a private who yelled at him first? If the Juniors get out of line, I expect my NCO's to handle it. However, if my NCO's get out of line whilst they are handling a situation, then the NCO's will be addressed by me. If, all Leaders can get back to the basics of being Leaders, then these types of issues should go away. Besides, smoking a Soldier may not always be the answer. Some times you have to come up with different ways to get into their skulls and ensure the lesson is learned. I know it comes up a lot around the RP answers form, SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member.
