Deat Colleagues,

Does the United Nations report now drawing parallels between N Korea/Kim Jong-Un and Nazi Germany/Hitler taken together calls for active intervention against N Korea/Kim Jong-Un raise any concerns among our military leaders and/or rank and file troops?

What do you believe about this media blitz and whether it may uktimately lead to military intervention?

What do we know about the strategic and tactical capabilities of N Korea / any potential allies versus potential US / Coalition forces?

I worry about the possibility this may escalate beyond sabre rattling. Can we avoid military engagemeng with N Korea?

What would you predict might be sequence of engagement and disengagement from this potential conflict? What, if anything, would be accomplished by war?

We should be very concerned about North Korea. It remains an unstable entity and will for the foreseeable future. The key to a successful resolution will probably involve some type of cooperation with China, another country with whom we don't enjoy particularly good or stable relations.

There are still ways to avoid another shooting war on the Korean peninsula, but it won't be easy.
