LinkedIn is a great website for transitioning service members that will be joining the civilian work force. Once you join LinkedIn, join the LinkedIn group, &quot;Veteran Mentor Network.&quot; The goal of this group is to assist active duty personnel and veterans. The website has good discussions, and you can post a discussion asking the groups help finding a job, improving your profile, resume, etc. I also will accept LinkedIn invitations. LinkedIn provides many benefits for networking and receiving mentorship prior to transitioning the civilian sector. Although I don’t plan on retiring in the very near future, I have established my profile and I keep it updated and check in daily for messages and various informational links. I have been offered multiple jobs in maintenance, logistics and transportation management just solely based off of my profile. I really enjoy the network and will continue to use it. There's a site called BeFoundJobs-dot-com that's both free and will show you some of the filtering and search tools embedded in Linked In. That site will also teach you how to synch your Twitter and Linked In accounts. I get emails from them all the time Response by 1SG Michael Blount made Oct 24 at 2015 11:15 PM 2015-10-24T23:15:43-04:00 2015-10-24T23:15:43-04:00 SSG Alan Wardell 1066569 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>it allmost makes you wish that rallypoint would mirror it. if there was a web based app so that you could use and find people in networks as easily as linked in has it Response by SSG Alan Wardell made Oct 26 at 2015 10:51 AM 2015-10-26T10:51:23-04:00 2015-10-26T10:51:23-04:00 2015-09-28T13:19:12-04:00
