I don't think you can model a Civilian Agency of this size, and expect "Leadership" in the same way that we have in the Military.

This isn't intended to be a knock on civilians. Not in the least. But we (military) have a different definition of Leadership than civilians.

If you want Leadership in the VA, you need a Leadership Model that more closely mirrors something Military can understand.

Conversely, is the diatribe between the Congressman and the Secretary more akin to the Secretary claiming to be SF? Did the Congressman pull a double speak and get the Secretary to miss speak, yet again?

Easy Sgt. now really.. the VA just spent some $6 Million for some sculptures and fountains for their Hospitals.. On 10/2/15, CNN/FOX/MSNBC reporting that "more than 300K Dead Vets still on VA's active health care enrollment list"... Also on 10/3/15.. its reported VA's record of waste, fraud, and abuse keeps piling up"... Respectfully, Sgt. its SNAFU ..

There is no leadership crisis in the VA because there is a lack of leadership and accountability.
Secretary McDonald successfully ran large companies prior to coming to the VA and he needs to exert his leadership by going to Congress and the Senate and telling them he needs free reign to make the improvements necessary and they need to listen.
I do not think that Secretary McDonald is going to make any headway as long as he does not have free reign to terminate those who are just plodding along doing business as usual.
And that being said, Leadership cannot happen when your hands are tied.

He is a hypocrite when he criticises regular veterans. Plus if I were in charge I would go fire some people with malice. lol I would also credit the doctors and nurses who do get it right and some Police there too

A leadership crisis and non-veteran Regional Reps and Service Officers. I have had my service-connected claim rejected twice, my appeal rejected and am now completing my NOD to the BVA. Their hope is that you will go away or die. They just don't care.

Me !!!!! But most politicians would really ever ask me my opinion because they wouldnt like the answer I would give them, was the same in the Army with high ranking individuals.
