S. Flag to a local organization that had just erected a flag pole. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's not "just" a misdemeanor, but it is a misdemeanor, because of the 'dollar' value of the item stolen, rather than the 'total' value.<br /><br />Although the circumstances are special, that doesn't make them legally significant.<br /><br />We have to separate emotion from the crime. The crime is a theft of an item, with a low dollar value, which makes it a misdemeanor.
