SGT James Murphy, I couldn't agree more. Having said that though, this sounds like a "me too" kind of saying, as the Marines have been using "the title" and "there are no ex-Marines" for years.

Disagreed. There are plenty of dirtbags who don't deserve the title. I know a few of them personally, and refuse to refer to them as anything resembling a respectful title.
