I read this earlier today and was blown away, this is the reason why our retirees and AD SMs are seeing reduced benefits and budget cutbacks, because of our current administration giving away money to countries that could care less about us except when we give them aid and assistance, stop the idiocy and take care of the home front first and foremost, this was the intention of our fore fathers and the constitution, not to give money to every country suffering from attacks from another.

SSG Vandriel, too true! I wish that taking care of our homefront had a higher priority. There are other ways that we can help Ukraine, such as using our influence to block all trade with the Russian Federation.

I believe that there is a bigger picture, but will admit that I don't see it very clearly. It bothers me though that our country is in a state of despair economically and our President as well as our Government cut our military operating budgets and many benefits yet throw 1 billion dollars at a foreign country all while saying we MUST stop deficit spending. Ukraine's economy will probably swallow that billion whole and leave that country unchanged. Doesn't make much sense to me to spend money like that if it won't really make a difference.

MSgt(P) Matthew Q. And what, prey tell, is the bigger picture that you have arrived at through your enhanced thought process concerning the strategic process in reference to the US government awarding 1B, to the Ukraine...or were you just saying what you said "tongue in cheek"...I HOPE

The BIGGER Picture Master Sgt, is that the Ukraine owes most of this $1 Billion to Russia and President Obama is in effect going to pay that debt to Russia to keep President Putin from stealing the Crimea and our involvement in another Crimean War. Big Picture for the Democrats in an election year.
