They were all miniscule except for a son who was 6 foot and 240 lbs and played linebacker in High School. He eventually starred at Texas A&M and played for the Cowboys for several years. This shows me how important it is for immigrants to buy into the American way of life. I was friends with two brothers whose father was a C-5 pilot and took off to Vietnam for a baby lift and return to Clark AFB. As he was departing something sheared off like the cargo door, and his hydraulics failed. Many died in that crash, and he never came back home. The family was whisked away to the US with broken hearts and dreams. I don't watch or read anything about Vietnam and I don't think I'm missing out on anything. I do however have three Vietnamese friends. Neither of us talk about the war. They came over on the boats and are successful business men. He was with the US Embassy in Saigon as a Staff Sergeant. Plus he was mariied with one kid. I don't know how he pulled this out, but he did. Wife and all. I met him at 29 Palms MCB in 1975. I was over there attached to RLT-4, from 12th Marines at Camp Haugue. General Al Gray was in Command of the 4th Regiment at that time. I think. I was a Corporal then.
