This year are you staying home for Christmas or traveling to relatives or a get away?

Christmas tends to be a time when we think about family. Sometime we are able to be home with family and in the military there are times when we are away from all family members because we are on duty far away.
My thoughts tended to focus on my family when I was away from them.
I hope and pray that each of my RallyPoint friends has a very merry Christmas and that God will fulfill each of your deepest desires,
Where will you be this Christmas?

Heading home for Christmas. As I am retiring in 2016, and likely starting a new job as the low man on the totem pole, I don't know if I'll have enough vacation time or seniority to take Christmas off next year.

I spent many Christmas's away from Family while on duty but managed to get home for a number of them. After I got married and had children the family was with me most of the time. As the kids got older we started to take a family trip form Christmas. My sons are all 24 or older and living on their own now [sadly one is in the Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth]
This year my wife and I will be taking our first vacation since December 2012. We are going to a place called Massanutten, Virginia where we had family vacations many times since 2002. I am looking forward to getting away, relaxing, and spending time with my wife. One or two of the sons may surprise us.

We dont travel at Christmas..., never have..save for an next town kind of thing and one year out of 24 together we took off on a whim from OR to see my dying mother in CA.>Its family time and My family is in my home.. if others want to visit, my house is open... but we are enjoying Christmas in our home ..many times over the years with me in a different country.

I am staying home for Christmas, but will have both my sons and their families visiting. Does not get any better than that.

We are staying home this year as our daughter and her roommate are coming up for Christmas. Since there will be 5 of us and our 2 dogs we have decided not to travel anywhere and just stay home.

We usually visit with some close relatives and have prayer and dinner then present time for the kids.

Staying home, doing nothing and probably seeing nobody. We used to have big family get togethers on holidays but now most of my family is either dead or a thousand miles away. Same for most of my longtime friends. When you get old you start running out of people.

Staying home. As our oldest is sprouting wings, this will likely be the last Christmas we get to spend together. Bitter-sweet.

We usually stay at the house. The wife's got her horses to take care of. Two dogs to look after. Very hard to find some one to take care of your animals as you do.

Going to stay close to the house. Christmas Eve supper at my in-laws and Christmas morning breakfast at my place with are two sons and their wives and grandkids. Merry Christmas to my RP family!
