I have an English Bulldog and have never seen a list wiht them on it either so I should be good to go. But I do feel that regardless of breed, agression can and does exist, thus every dog should have to be tested if they want to place restrictions on any. Also, my son could likely stop the attack himself or run away. However, if a Rottweiler attacked my 6 year old son he isn't going to be able to stop him and could potentially be serious injured or killed. It also questionable if I could even stop it myself.

I am neither arguing for or against, but highlighting why most are afraid of dogs such as the Rottweiler breed.
Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 15 at 2014 3:09 PM 2014-04-15T15:09:27-04:00 2014-04-15T15:09:27-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 102843

SPC Lamp

Not all owners might be as responsible as you are, so I don't think all breeds should be allowed on post.

Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 15 at 2014 3:17 PM 2014-04-15T15:17:42-04:00 2014-04-15T15:17:42-04:00 SFC William Swartz Jr 103027

IF, and I say again IF, a dog can pass an obedience test, then I think they should be allowed. You are right there is a lot of ignorance with certain breeds, but unfortunately due to "bad pr", it is what it is and I do not think that these rules will be changed, Especially with the manner in which some peoples kids are allowed to run all around the housing areas unsupervised and do what they want, it makes for a dangerous situation even with breeds that are not on the "list", and it always ends up falling on the dog owner and dog when something happens even though it was the fault of the kid for teasing/pestering the dog and the dog reacting to protect itself. If you rent people like to put restrictions on dogs. I call it dog racism. Just like a human what breed (race) you are doesn't have an affect on the acts you commit. It is upbringing, education and discipline. Which humans and animals both have.
