TLE from VPC when Going Overseas

i recently PCS'd from Yuma Az, to Germany. No flights aboard normal measures, so Transportation Scheduled me a flight from San Diego to Germany. I Shipped my vehicle from there, so i had to show up on Thursday to ship it and my flight left on Monday. That friday, the new company was closed. DOD FMR JFTR state that i am not authorized TLE because i was 50 miles away from my post. so they screwed me $2500.00. who can i scream to so soldiers that arent as fortunate as me can stop getting effd over by DFAS! absolute Bull!

MSG Private RallyPoint Member, did you ever get reimbursed since you posted this? My only experience with receiving a vehicle in Germany was back in 1981 at Bremerhaven. That particular car was supposed to be shipped to Iran but the 1979 Tehran hostage crisis interrupted the shipment. The cars had to be sold to US Military OCONUS. I had a fuel ration card which helped me cover the gas.
