When I was discharged, I was not given a RE code or reason, and my recruiter told me that I need to write a letter to the AG FLARNG. The letter should state why I got out, why I want to get back in, and what I&#39;ve accomplished and done in the time. I&#39;ve been out 4 years, so i&#39;m still in the window to reenlist. Is there a template, d-form or is it just a personally written letter. Also would anyone be willing to proofread it (recruiters, command level staff). <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Check out &quot;AR 135–178 • 12 January 2017&quot; and within you&#39;ll find most if not all the reasons why a Soldier can be separated from the USAR/ARNG. <br />I&#39;m guessing that you were counseled prior to your separation, look on the paperwork and I&#39;m sure that the reason(s) will be on there. <br />Having said that did you receive a &quot;Bar(s) to Continued Service&quot;? (Please don&#39;t answer on this forum, just something to ponder...)<br />If you don&#39;t want to read the whole regulation start with: Chapter 2, Page 11... <br />Good luck!

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you were Army National Guard, you should have been given an NGB22 when you separated, which should have the type of discharge, Honorable, under Honorable Conditions, etc, and it should have a RE Code on it also. If you don&#39;t have it, HR at state headquarters should be able to get that for you. If you are close to your old unit, the Admin may be able to pull it up for you.
