There was a 3 ft tall dust dune at each entryway. It looked like it hadn't been lived in for months. I got out an e-tool and dug all of the offending dirt out of there. The next day, a new Soldier moved into my tent, escorted by a member of the Mayor's Cell. I asked MC SPC guy how long the tent had been vacant. He says, "since Tuesday".<br />I soon discovered that dust storms were a nearly every evening occurrence, and an inch of dust in the tent afterwards was a common sight. I am working two ranks above what I should be and the learning curve is outrageous. I think this will help me in the future. It's been great learning and growing and experiencing a new culture. It is so hard to get a combat deployment these days. I will probably be here again in a year or year and a half in the same position, but if there are no other combat deployments I can get into then I will probably be heading out to South Korea for another another overseas tour.
