Today is the 21st anniversary of September 11, 2001. What does September 11 mean to you?

September 11, 2001 was a day of infamy for this nation IMHO. It was peaceful and clear for most people in this nation on that day. For those on the planes that were hurtling towards buildings and those inside the World Trade Center it was a day of abject terror.
Hopefully as time passes, we will remember the days when September 11 was just another day of late summe.
On September 11, 2001 I was supposed to go to the Pentagon for an informal meeting with several other soldiers and DA civilians. I was at home and it was a beautiful morning. I was reading the Bible and praying. I learned of the attack of the World Trade Center towers by phone call and then I was told about the attack on the Pentagon. After I called a contact who was inside the Pentagon, I was told I could not get to the Pentagon because it was prohibited.

On September 11, 2001 I was supposed to go to the Pentagon for an informal meeting with several other soldiers and DA civilians. I was at home and it was a beautiful morning. I was reading the Bible and praying sitting at my kitchen table - enjoying the beautiful weather. I learned of the attack of the World Trade Center towers by phone call and then I was told about the attack on the Pentagon. After I called my contact in the Pentagon, I was told I could not get to the Pentagon because it was prohibited.
Later I learned some neighbors of a couple from our church were on the plane that hit the Pentagon. They were supposed to leaving for an anniversary trip and were killed instantly.
I discussed the situation with my wife and then I volunteered to be recalled to active duty.
I was brought back to active duty on October 23 and mobilized on early November to my duty station the Pentagon. The Pentagon was flooded for a couple months and we were remotely working out of a building on Eisenhower Avenue - surrounded by Jersey walls and MP protection.

The last two choices. I was laid off from my last real job the Friday prior to the attack. All work in my field disappeared overnight. No one would take an application, so frustration was piled on top of the anger over this cowardly attack on the United States. I ended up as 100% disabled a couple years later and I never did find work.
I did volunteer work for about a decade, until I could no longer physically do anything useful.

Today I was listening to Oliver North on Fox News. I just caught the end of the story but he basically said that we are less prepared today and our Military forces are a lot smaller compared to what they were on September 11th.

I don't know the answer to that Statement but I do believe that we are appearing weaker that we were back then and the navy wants to cut back by over 24 ships when our near -peer adversaries like China and possibly Russia are expanding their navies.

The stupid administration cares more about climate change than about how is that about having a robust defense and now that Afghanistan has now gone to the dark side again by the hand of the Brokeback Biden administration, And with all those unvetted Afghans That were able to come in with the large group that escaped Afghanistan, who knows if they will be the next sleeper cell or by our stupid President at homeland security chiefs both don't think there is a problem at the border when we've already had 2.5 million that have been intercepted but hundreds of thousands have gotten away. Who knows what is in store for us thanks to our we or weakness and stupidity.

911 is a tragedy but I don't think this president has learned anything and 50 years of public office. The talk on the news is that Susan rice is actually running the show and she is the actual wizard of oz behind the curtain of president Biden. Let us not forget that she was the assistant secretary of African affairs when 2 different embassies were hit in the 1990s. Don't be surprised if we get something equivalent or worse than Benghazi.

I feel sorry for all those who died on 911 and those who were exposed to toxic agents from the fires including National Guard that were at the scene to secure the area and now they're dying from lung ailments that that often are not covered by the US government.
It is sad that 1st responders and others who were there at the scene have died or are dying from I'm from suit and exposure to exposure to carcinogens From these terrorist attacks.

A later article I said that the literal combat ships are are not going to be phased out phased out just yet. Congress stepped in but even then they are getting rid of all 5 of our tycon deroga class cruisers. One cruiser already been decommissioned. This president and Congress is throwing 300 billion dollars away for climate change mitigation when it could have been used to keep our ships in working order And to increase bonuses for people to sign up for the US navy instead of assigning 87,000 new IRS agents to look for spare change under your sofa at your small business.

911 is a tragedy. When in a bad piece, prepare for war but this inept government is preparing for climate change instead Making us an easy target for our adversaries who haven't Reduced military expenditures of their arm forces.

My wife called me after the first plane hit and I thought it had to be a light civil aircraft with a novice pilot. I turned the TV on in time to see the second plane hit. When I saw the second hit my reaction changed to this was an attack. My immediate thought was that I had somehow failed. My life was 25 years of service intended to prevent an attack on the United States and here before my eyes was an attack I hoped I had contributed to preventing.

Had bus duty at school. A bus had a wreck and turned over. I went to let them know in the office and saw the plane fly into the tower. Was activated and spent the next month at the 138th FW Command Post. Our F-16's escorted the President that day. Never forget.

One of the saddest days in our country’s history. I was in Germany, while watching the news break late I ordered a recall of my Battalion, manned the perimeter and told the leadership to get their affairs in order. The Battalion Commander was called to HQ for a brief and update. I then began tracking those in the Pentagon as two of my former commanders worked there, as well as a few of my peers. I found the Officers safe and the SGM decided.

I pray that today our society and leaders remember how this brought us together as a nation, putting much aside and coming together. Our Country should not have to wait for another disaster to be together. Our President needs to stop grouping and stereotyping the citizens of the country, instead I hope he pleads for unity and sets the perimeter for success. He needs to be a unifier, we need to be a Nation at peace.
