You either loved him or, hated him. Not too many in the middle. Either way, we was good for motor sports. Sad to see him go. But, there'll be someone to cheer for next season! Smoke's first love was never NASCAR.

To a man like Tony, NASCAR was more about the money than love of the sport, and I'm both a fan of NASCAR and a Tony Stewart fan. I say that because Tony's first love has always been small town dirt track racing. He owns a few sprint car teams and also Eldora Speedway, pretty much the Mecca of dirt tracks. NASCAR was his way of financing his hobbies, and I hope that he will be able to focus more on his dirt track/sprint car ventures now. Thick and thin... Not manyhave done so much for the sport as Tony; especially when it comes to safety and passion. The un-countable things he has done off the track are amazing; most of which most people have no idea about. He has take a lot of grief over the years but I can't think of anyone else I would be a fan of as much and Smoke. He will be sorely missed on the track but he will always be involved and a contributor to the sport!!! Go Smoke!!
