Key strategic location or waste of time and money ?

Both and in a good way and bad way, it is helping the economy over there, but hurting us with all the budget cuts we are already having to deal with related to alleged waste.

I believe that it is a key strategic location for our forces over there. The only other options that we could have used an airbase in either Afghanistan (KAF) or Pakistan as a Transit center. Obviously, those wouldn't have been great choices.

On another note: SSG P., did you take that picture of the KC-135 getting deiced? That's a great picture!!!
