I know someone who is looking for a Sys Admin for a CTR at NASA. I think the Contract is through Booz Allen but I am not 100% sure. I will give you a call and discuss the details with you. The good news is that you could transition into a CTR position pretty quick and make some really good money. Probably the most broad sector in IT is System Administration. A lot of CTR companies have their sys admins doing everything from help desk, to PC support, to video conferencing, to server management. The sky is truly the limit. I read in an earlier post that you have 13 years in? Stay in until 20, and retire. Good luck in your decision! I went from ET to police officer so maybe I'm the wrong guy for this question. The best way is to know operating systems of large corporations and see if the CG has any training available for those systems. It obviously will make you more marketable. Also, college!!! The military has huge incentives for its people pursuing degrees!! Far better than my active duty days... Get your education! What are you best at doing? Where do you want to live and work, etc...

There are many opportunities today in Sys Admin, Cyber Security, network,Security, etc... If you wish to continue in the Govt arena ensue your Security Clnc is up to date, that you have your current security access systatus up to date and obtain any certifications you can be for you separate (e.g. In no special order, Network+, Security+, CCNA, ITIL, COBIT, etc...).
