Trying to research and pick 5 duty stations for my wishlist. What would be a good first duty station as a 12B? Which should I avoid?

For learning the MOS, 11th ACR, Ft Irwin CA. You do your job all year long in two week increments.

Just wanted to add that I’ll be geobaching for at least my first enlistment so I’ve been looking into OCONUS. Just did some more research and looking at Belvoir, Riley, Campbell, Carson, and Lewis.

Don't know what the requirements are for ACoE, but I don't think there is a better place for an Engineer, professionally speaking.

Schofield Barracks, Hawaii - 25th Infantry Division. 25th ID had its own Air Assault School on East Range, and the units in 25th ID were very enthusiastic about sending Soldiers to schools (back in the 90s).

I think a good 2nd choice would be 54th Engineer Bn with the 173d Airborne in Vicenza, Italy. Because Europe, but that's me.

A lot of great advise here. All the units I belonged to are long gone: 2nd ACR Germany and 197th Benning. I visited a lot of places in between and basically had a great time everywhere I went. My advise for what it's worth: put in for parts of the world you want to see. You can always travel to schools. At the end of the day... the Army is gong to put you where they need you. :) Live the Dream and enjoy the Adventure! Essayons!!!

Don't know what it's like today but in 1968 YOU WENT WHERE THEY SENT YOU ....SURPRISE ! Guys that were in other mos's were sent to be Engineers ( C ) . They were deceived. Sorry .
