Type of discharge when ETS with a flag?

I'm in the National Guard and my contract is up in 3 months. I am currently flagged for failing the PT test and I plan on getting out on my ETS date. What type of discharge will I most likely receive? Is my unit able to give me an other than honorable discharge for that?

Could be Honorable, could be General under Honorable, could be Other Than Honorable. You Commander will make their recommendation as to what type you should receive. The one you end up with is up in the air, really.

Part of serving honorably is passing your PT standards, why would you expect Honorable? I certainly don't think it should be Other than Honorable, but I would think General would be appropriate... just my opinion though..

Why not just take and pass it so you have no flags and get out knowing you meet the bare min standards?

Unless you are being put out on a Chapter 9, you need to complete your 8 years of MSO before you are actually discharged. Even under CH 9 you receive no less than a Gen Under Hon

Thomas the unit can give you any discharge but a Dishonorable Discharge. Because you have proven to not be prepared to be a soldier and live up to your contract. In Fact if you fail 1 more AFPT they can discharge you before your ETS.

APFT is an honorable discharge. If they give you anything else, take it to JAG.
