The eye passed right over the base. It's amazing how it can go from squall with rain blowing horizontally, to sunny weather and peaceful calm, and then just as quickly turn to squall again with the rain blowing horizontally in the opposite direction! This El NiƱo year has brought a lot of typhoons just after the rainy season has ended. This has caused over saturation of the soil and landslides.
