U.S. Army Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Guide https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/u-s-army-noncommissioned-officer-professional-development-guide

If you are still in (or still have guys you care about that are still in) and you have not read and do not know what the DA PAM 600-25 is you need download or google it and read it. I only came to realize what a good tool it is after I put on a diamond.
Remember the funny career maps we use to see? Remember the old crusty NCO's telling you what you need to do to get promoted? DA PAM 600-25 is a document produced by each branch that tells you what exactly Infantry Branch expects from you. It's the guiding document for decentralized promotion boards.
For example did you know these Army guidelines for civilian education?
(1) Infantrymen selected for promotion to SFC have ideally completed a minimum of 15 semester hours.
(2) Infantrymen selected for promotion to MSG have ideally completed a minimum of 30 semester hours.
(3) Infantrymen selected for promotion to SGM have ideally completed a minimum of 60 semester hours.
The part that applies to you or your Soldiers is only a couple pages. Know it and use it to counsel your men! Spread the word.
