Unexpected airborne school date....

I am currently a Drill Sergeant and about to come off the trail. I had pin point orders to HHC 1-214th aviation in Wiesbaden, Germany. Last week my COC and I received an e-mail with an airborne school date for me. My pin point to HHC has changed to simply 1-214th aviation. I called my branch (74d-chemical) and she didn't know who put me in for it either. I keep hearing that the gaining unit isn't airborne so no one knows why I was put on orders. I want to go to school but I also want to know if my orders are changing. Can anyone give me insight as to why I randomly came down for airborne school?

SSG Walters,

You are being provided an opprotunity; don't ask why, just take advantage of it. I've met several 74 Series Soldiers that I would like to throw out of a plane. The fact that your Chain of Command is willing to not only provide you with a chute, but training, says a lot about you. It will help you make the SFC list. (If you haven't already been selected) Good luck at Airborne School and enjoy your time in Germany.
