Since my LES shows a "Debt Payment" amount, how do I determine if I still owe a balance on any debt?

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hello everyone,<br />I have had recurring "Debt Payment" amounts shown on my LES'. To my knowledge, I do not owe anything. I have also reached out to DFAS to which I got no response. Would anyone happen to know where I can go to see if I do have a balance or if this is normal?<br />BestSat, 03 Feb 2024 15:50:44 -0500Since my LES shows a "Debt Payment" amount, how do I determine if I still owe a balance on any debt?

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Down in the bottom area of your LES, there will be all kinds of things written there. Included in this area is what your debt is for and what the remaining balance (if any) of that debt isMSG Private RallyPoint MemberSat, 03 Feb 2024 16:08:43 -05002024-02-03T16:08:43-05:00Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 3 at 2024 4:17 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Is it roughly $31 or so? If so that is for your SGLV. I had the same issue a while back.SSG Private RallyPoint MemberSat, 03 Feb 2024 16:17:46 -05002024-02-03T16:17:46-05:00Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 3 at 2024 9:34 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Have you talked with your UA, I would think they have a direct contact with DFAS or at least back in 2007 we did.SSG Private RallyPoint MemberSat, 03 Feb 2024 21:34:39 -05002024-02-03T21:34:39-05:00Response by COL Dan Ruder made Feb 5 at 2024 7:54 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your LES showing a "Debt Payment" amount indicates that a portion of your pay is being deducted to repay a debt. If you still owe a balance on any debt look for notes or codes on your LES associated with the debt. If you are still unsure, go to the Finance office on your installation (Army Military Pay Office (AMPO)); they can provide detailed information about the debt, including the remaining balance, interest rates (if applicable), and the timeline for repayment.COL Dan RuderMon, 05 Feb 2024 19:54:46 -05002024-02-05T19:54:46-05:002024-02-03T15:50:44-05:00
