To me this means stay true to yourself, the organization, and always live up to your core values, not the Army Values but your own values growing up.

It means to not only be true, honest and faithful to the branch and people in which you server but also to yourself.

From day 1 at OCS the motto was "I will not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do."
I have tried to follow that creed every day.

1. I will not do it because it is wrong.
2. I will not do it because I don't want to be punished.
3. I will do it because I don't think I will get caught.

Here is what it means to me: Doing the right thing. Example: You screw the pooch and you own up to it and take the punishment like a Soldier instead of trying to Blue Falcon someone else.

It means all. All you really have in life is your name and how you live and treat yourself and others. Integrity is the highest morale value which determines the rest of you and your actions.

To be specific for soldiers, Integrity is the root of honor.

I am remiss for not illuminating integrity more. Integrity translates to pure intentions and the truth even if we suffer for telling the truth. The military is predicated on the truth. The military is greater than any Superbowl because we play for keeps.

Always doing the right thing, even when it hurts, even when it's not popular and doing so consistently to where you are the same person in public as you are in private. Integrity is the corner stone of character. You literally cannot have one without the other.

"Integrity" to me is the self-initiated practice of honesty that isn't expected to be acknowledged or even appreciated by anyone else. It comes totally from within.
