Veteran re-joining the Military https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/veteran-re-joining-the-military

I have tried looking for answers but can't get a on point what I am looking for answer. I got out last year 2013 due to the end of my contract with an Honorable discharge with 6yrs (07-13) active duty. At that time I thought it was a good idea and now that I am out I was thinking about re-joining. My issue is it wouldn't be till 2016 after my husband & I come back from Europe with him being stationed over there.

With the new tattoo policy and everything else going on I am wondering if it is possible at all to join back into the Army life. As well losing of the rank, basic, ait and the whole process if it is even possible. Check out the new reg in reference to tattoos. Much of the revision was about commissioning with tattoos, somehair style changes, and some gold star authorizations. The max number of tattoos is no more than 4 on all extremities below the knee and elbow, no bigger than your hand, no sleeves, no bands greater than 2", no tattoos above the collar or below the cuff (on the hands). Even the ones above the collar and on the hands are not grandfathered.
Of course, the best person to talk to is a recruiter. The recruiting mission changes frequently, and as mentioned already, you will start to see a greater need of personnel.

As for your rank, you got out less than 2 years ago, and it may be possible for you to rejoin at your previous rank, or maybe one rank lower. Right now, the 15R ranks are balances, but I would consider going T or U and getting some flying time... just my advice.

OH BTW - I TOLD YOU YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN!!!!
Just picking with you, Mueller.
We all have our path to follow! Glad to see you're considering coming back in. The army got a little more boring after you left, SGT! It was good to run into in Afghanistan though!
