Veteran RUC numbers, do they exist?

I vaguely remember something about RUC numbers for veterans. Kind of like a novelty thing. Does anyone know if they actually exist? Is there a link/article providing information on them?

Reporting Unit Code (RUC). it was a 5 digit number that identified a specific unit within a Monitored Command Command (MCC). You might get orders to 2d Mar Div and the 3 digit MCC would be spelled out in your orders. I don't remember many but they should be on the net. The 5 digit RUC breaks it down to say 2d Tank Bn.
