How many of you Veterans are entrepreneurs? What is/was most difficult for you of becoming an entrepreneur or to even get your business up and off the ground?

Analysis paralysis. Sometimes I research things too much. Taking action steps at the right time is key. Even if those steps are not 100% right, taking action can be better than not taking action.

What have you found to be difficult?

FirstWaVE is proud to host the first event in a new series called “Veteran Entrepreneurs Roundtable” on November 18th, 2015. This new programming series aims to connect and support military veterans in their efforts to start/join new companies and to take the leap into entrepreneurship.

The Veteran Entrepreneurs Roundtable, led by Mario Rodriguez, will offer a forum to help veterans navigate the start-up stage, educate aspiring entrepreneurs on resources to support growth, and provide networking opportunities with entrepreneurs of all kinds. Our military veterans have skills and experiences that are unique in many ways. The Veteran Entrepreneurs Roundtable is designed to further invigorate them in Tampa Bay's start-up and innovation economy.

Join us November 18th for an exciting panel discussion and Q&A session with Veteran Entrepreneurial leaders in the local community. Learn exactly how to transition your career from serving our country to serving customers and the lessons learned from making the transition from military to entrepreneur.

Probably biggest challege for me coming out of the Marine Corps into business was not getting the immediate success I expected. However, these days I run a multi-million dollar business in several states. Hope this helps and at least sheds some light.
